This medium telephoto lens combines an exterior reminiscent of classic lens styling with a lens that offers optical performance that matches modern photographic equipment. Despite its large maximum aperture of F1.5, it is compact and offers high optical performance. The synergistic effect of the large F1.5 aperture and slightly longer focal length makes it ideal for creating photographs with a "large background blur."
Classical exterior: The exterior features a classical design. All parts are made of metal, providing a superior texture and feel when used, making the lens a joy to own.
Beautiful bokeh with 12 aperture blades: The 12-blade aperture is used to make the aperture shape closer to a circle. This results in natural depiction of out-of-focus areas, and point light sources and other objects are blurred in a soft, rounded manner rather than polygonal.
Compact and high performance: The aspherical lens element delivers excellent optical performance even at wide open apertures. With a total length of 63.3mm (from the mount), the lens minimizes vignetting when using a rangefinder.
Includes a dedicated hood with slits: A silver or black hood is included to match the body color. It has slits to reduce vignetting in the viewfinder and can be attached in reverse when stored.
Manual focus for precise focusing: The all-metal helicoid unit is machined and adjusted with high precision, and high-quality grease generates just the right amount of torque, providing smooth focusing and allowing for subtle focus adjustments.
Bayonet-type VM mount: The lens mount is compatible with the Leica M mount. It is not only suitable for use with rangefinder cameras, but also offers excellent design balance when attached to mirrorless digital cameras via a mount adapter.
