This 50mm F1.2 lens, a traditional standard large aperture that has a history of being a favorite among professional photographers, has been redesigned with modern technology to bring out the true potential of a high-speed standard lens. The use of two double-sided aspherical lenses ensures reliable use even at wide apertures, and produces a rich bokeh effect. Despite its large aperture, its compact design makes it suitable for use with optical viewfinders and provides a comfortable operating feel.
Two of the eight lens elements are aspherical on both sides, achieving both high-level image quality and a large aperture.
Despite its large F1.2 aperture, the short overall length reduces vignetting on the rangefinder, and its weight of just 322g (excluding accessories) makes it easy to handle.
The all-metal helicoid unit is machined and adjusted with high precision, and the use of high-quality grease that generates just the right amount of torque ensures smooth focusing, allowing for subtle focus adjustments.
A 12-blade aperture is used to make the aperture shape closer to a circle, resulting in natural-looking out-of-focus areas and soft, rounded bokeh, rather than polygonal, of point light sources.
