Local Production for Local Power!!
Box size is referenced above. Weight indicates packaged weight. Please use this as a reference for size comparison.
It is easy to handle, so it is excellent for workability and yield when making small splits. Please try actually performing face-grinding and small-splitting work yourself, and confirm the differences in the properties and performance of the sharpening stones.
There are various types, sizes, and shapes. For sharpening knives, use stones with ample size as is for face-grinding. Otherwise, use them for small splitting, or even in the manner of Japanese sword sharpening.
It is composed of only the easternmost **First-Class Mineral Deposit in Kyoto City, Ukyo Ward + comparative specimens.**
Umekebata stones are from the renowned Umekebata-Mukino-machi, known as the birthplace of Kyoto sharpening stones, passing through the King of the Seta Layer, Okuden-machi.
This is not a set of stones that have increased in volume with substandard material, but rather one that allows you to tell the genuine article by the way it breaks. These are stones that have been primarily forged by trainees under the direction of a supervisor with over 15 years of experience in the Yamamoto forging technique. Please check the forging finish, including the images.
Please try breaking it yourself and confirm the significant differences in properties, even the different hues and saturation. (Prepare a through-cut negative driver, mallet, safety glasses, and gloves.)
Having one soft red pin is lucky. (Lot dependent, sorry.)
From the genuine stone with clear leaf structure, a flaky mud slurry like a thin film easily emerges.
Sharpening grains with directional properties are arranged on the flakes, and surprisingly, the grinding power is strong.
Under conditions where the water is squeezed out, the grain size also rises as the flakes break.
The slippage between the flakes is due to the lubricating action of the crushed mud slurry of viscous feldspar and mica minerals, giving a light and smooth feel.
If you look at history, people used to slide the materials for the stone walls of Osaka Castle, which were laid with wet kombu (kelp), and pulled them. Imagine replacing the kombu with broken flakes.
If you grind with an excessive amount of broken flakes or apply too much pressure, it is easy to finish, but it can create shallow scratches on softer metals due to the overlapping parts of the flakes and the strong grinding power originating from Yamashiro Province.
The appearance of these shallow scratches changes significantly with adjustments in force, sharpening angle, mud slurry amount, and water content, so it is easy to evaluate your skill level through visual inspection of the results.
It is recommended because it is easy to get an evaluation of your skill level from the visual results.
In the early stages of becoming a skilled flake user, you will notice that the "kombu attack" mentioned earlier is very helpful against under-forged stones or hard stones from other countries.
You may feel motivated to challenge those hard, unruly horses again that you have previously given up on. In fact, the skilled whetstone maker's domain is to extract the leaf structure by discarding the thickness and forging it...
There is a tendency in the market for easy manufacturing with thickness and size as the standard of justice, resulting in a large profit margin, so there is a good chance you will have the opportunity to use soft red pin mud.
・One finished 197g piece included. Size is indicated by the outside dimensions of the box. One piece, including the outer box and the weight of the forging original stone, is 566g. For [Iyo] and [Yamashiro] medium to high-grade whetstones, the miner has hand-written the brand name as a measure against counterfeiting and imitation. The forging finish shown in the picture is sealed in reserve. The original stone does not have a brand name written on it, so please feel free to touch it yourself and judge it by its properties. Suitable for those seeking competitive and training elements, as well as advanced directions.
・[Iyo] Tsubaki Village, Tangawa-mura has been revived after 50 years!! https://bit.ly/IyoMIkantsubu The outside dimensions (approximate) of the [Hefu-goma] 10-jo box: 15 x 16 x 2.8~5.4 cm. Thickness varies (actually overflowing and bulging). Total weight including the box is approximately 566g. Zero lottery elements as requested. You will receive the stone as shown in the picture.
・Please polish and flatten the forging finish. If the seating is poor, use a wet towel or silicone adhesive on a non-deformable base. Mining is done with heavy machinery, and cutting is done with a diamond tombstone cutter. Regarding the "Iyo Meito" whetstone, as it is a product with unauthorized brand markings, we do not involve ourselves. The "Iyo Meito" brand from around 2007 is exclusively ours. For this distinction, handwritten brands are used for all brands except for small sizes. We cannot answer inquiries regarding "Iyo Meito" that is applied after our selection and manufacturing.
・Kyoto City, Ukyo Ward, Yamashiro Province, siliceous slate #6,000~24,000 grit. Harder stones require more skill, but the probability of achieving a fine finish increases. Due to the continuous strip markings, it is difficult to become mirror-like without taste, even at approximately 70% of the threshold, and it is easy to draw out the contrast derived from differences in forging lines, material, and carbon content.
・The stone tends to be harder and more refined, like the black rock juice. Since it is hard, the self-sharpness decreases, so adjust the co-named hanging according to the purpose and skill level to sharpen it gradually.
【Voltage Compatibility】
When using electrical appliances, please note that they are designed for Japanese voltage specifications (90-110V), so if you use them with a different voltage, it may cause a malfunction.
【Plug Type】
Our products use Japanese plug types (A or B type).
Please use a conversion adapter if necessary.
【Important Note on Transformers and Adapters】
A transformer adjusts voltage to match your device's requirements.
A conversion adapter only changes the plug shape and does not adjust voltage.
Using only a conversion adapter without a transformer may result in damage to the product.
【Liability】
We are not responsible for malfunctions or damages caused by improper use, such as operating the product without a transformer.
