There are various types, sizes, and shapes. For sharpening stones with ample size, use them as is for face-grinding. For those that don't fit, use them for small splitting or even in the manner of Japanese sword sharpening.

It is composed of only the easternmost **First-Class Mineral Deposit** in Kyoto City, Ukyo Ward + comparative specimens.

The [Umekebata] sharpening stone is from the town of Ume Kebata-Hono-chō, known for its [Nakasang] and [Kōzansang], through the [Subata] layer, the king of [Okadomachi], and as the birthplace of Kyoto sharpening stones, [Ayabata].

It is not made with stones that do not meet the standard but have increased volume; it is a set where authenticity can be identified by the way it breaks. Regarding stone forging, it was mainly forged by trainees under the direction of an expert with over 15 years of experience in the [Yamamoto] forging technique, so please check the forging finish, including the images, as it seems to be able to produce a variety of vibrant colors and patterns.

From the stone leaf with clear grain, a flaky mud slurry like a thin film easily emerges.

Sharpening grains with directionality are arranged on the flakes, and surprisingly, the grinding power is strong.

Under conditions where the water is squeezed out, the grain size also rises as the flakes break.

The slippage between the flakes is due to the lubrication of the crushed mud slurry of viscous feldspar and mica minerals, giving a light and pleasant sliding feel.

If you look at history, you soaked wet kombu and slid the materials of the heavy Osaka Castle stone walls. Imagine replacing the kombu with crushed flakes.

If you grind too much pressure with an excess of unfractured flakes, it is easy to finish the after-processing with the overlapping parts of the flakes and the strong grinding power originating from [Yamashiro] Prefecture, but it can create shallow scratches on soft metals.

The appearance of these shallow scratches changes significantly with adjustments in force, sharpening angle, mud slurry amount, and water content, so it is easy to evaluate your own skill level through visual inspection of the results.

It is recommended because it is easy to obtain self-assessment of skill level from visual inspection of the results.

In the early stages of approaching a skilled flake user, you will notice how helpful the "kombu attack" is against under-forged items or hard, stiff ones from other countries.

Due to the continuous strip streak on the bottom, it is difficult to become a mirror-like surface at about 70% of the threshold, and it is easy to draw out the contrast derived from the differences in forging lines, materials, and carbon content. ・The stone tends to be harder and more refined, like the black rock juice. Since it is hard, the self-sharpness decreases, so adjust the co-name hanging according to the purpose and skill level to sharpen it.
