Quantitative Aptitude About the Book Quantitative aptitude or numerical ability

About the Book Quantitative aptitude or numerical ability tests form an essential part of the examinations held for recruiting officers to banks as well as certain other sectors. These tests are specifically designed to test the candidates’ knowledge of basic mathematics and their ability of time management. This book aims to help candidates understand the basic concepts of math—or refresh their minds about them—and learn ways to solve problems fast. Some Highlights It provides an exhaustive review of the basic concepts and principles of the common mathematical topics that are prescribed for most competitive examinations. It helps readers hone their timemanagement skills by applying fasttrack formulae or shortcut methods to problems even as detailed conventional problemsolving methods are also discussed to help elucidate a question. The detailed solutions are intended to help readers arrive at a clear selfassessment and work towards selfimprovement in terms of knowledge as well as time management. The multiplechoice format often allows one to locate the answer without having to solve the sum fully. This book guides the candidates on how to do that—another timemanagement skill. It provides sufficient practice exercises containing a wide range of multiplechoice questions on each topic, all based on the recent examination trends. Several quantitative aptitude question papers set in recent examinations (Bank PO, SSC, etc.) are included to help readers gain selfconfidence by answering in the test mode. Though mainly designed for candidates of bank probationary officers’ examinations, this book will also prove quite useful for candidates of various other examinations that test their numerical and quantitative abilities. It could also be used as a refresher for high school and college students.
