SHEA Butter despite the name, is a vegetable oil produced from the seeds of the African shea tree (Butyrospermum parkii or otherwise Vitellaria paradoxa). When fresh, unprocessed, it has a paste-like consistency, is off-white to slightly beige in color, and has a delicate, characteristic scent. This butter is obtained through mechanical pressing; when cold pressed, it is unrefined. Action. Compared to refined butter, it absorbs significantly faster and better, and also nourishes the skin more deeply. It owes its cosmetic and dermatological properties to its high content of phytosterols, triterepins, and caritenes. Cinnamic acid and cycloartenol make Shea butter a natural filter that protects the skin from UV rays and delays the aging process. It is also a rich source of triterpenes, thanks to which it has anti-edema, anti-inflammatory, antibacterial, soothing, smoothing, revitalizing, and circulation-stimulating properties. Uses. The butter can be used in products/formulations for all skin areas, including the eye area. It works well as a natural thickener with strong moisturizing properties in the production of creams and balms. We add it to cosmetic formulas in the oil phase, after melting/heating to a temperature of 35-40oC Recommended concentration in cosmetic formulas 2-90% Composition : - natural allantoin; - provitamin A; - vitamins F and E; - saturated and unsaturated fatty acids; - waxes.
