The city is undergoing urban redevelopment aimed at coexistence between humans and Pokémon, and wild Pokémon inhabit the "Wild Zone," a zone developed using cutting-edge technology. Visiting Miare City for sightseeing, the protagonist chooses one of three Pokémon as their partner: Chikorita, Snotlout, or Waninoko.
