Product Description Kakegawa City in Shizuoka Prefecture is widely known as a famous production area for delicious deep-steamed tea. The nostalgic and soothing landscapes of Kakegawa City feature fertile land and rolling hills, where thick-leaved tea is cultivated, making it suitable for the deep-steaming process. The foundation of tea production is "soil preparation." Creating quality soil is considered the most important aspect of tea cultivation. By laying mountain grass between the tea rows and using organic fertilizers, a healthy and soft soil is created, allowing microorganisms and insects to thrive, which helps the tea plants develop strong roots. The tea plants, nourished by the earth's blessings, produce robust and healthy tea leaves. Starting with healthy soil preparation for the satisfaction of customers, tea production is themed around "coexistence with nature." Tea production born from genuine soil preparation involves mixing organic fertilizers into the soil to ensure it becomes airy and soft. The work in the "tea grass field" involves cutting mountain grass to lay between the tea rows. This helps suppress weeds, retains moisture, provides insulation, and acts as fertilizer. Young buds are hand-picked while still fresh. During the two weeks after the carefully cultivated tea leaves are transported to the tea factory, various processes are undertaken to transform freshly picked tea leaves into familiar tea. The tea production process includes steaming, drying, kneading, and kneading while drying, with steaming being the most crucial step. Since tea is a living thing, the characteristics of the tea leaves vary from day to day and from field to field. The tea master observes the condition of the leaves and adjusts the steaming process to maximize their unique flavors. Freshly picked tea leaves are brought to the rough tea manufacturing factory as quickly as possible. The steaming process, which is the most important in rough tea production, softens the leaves with steam. While the usual steaming time is around 40 to 60 seconds, our deep-steamed tea is steamed for about 120 seconds. The final step in rough tea production involves kneading the leaves to shape them. The selection of raw tea leaves, the degree of drying, and the inspection of the finished product are all rigorously checked.
