Shizuoka Kakegawa First Harvest Tea 100 Deep Steamed Coarse Made Farmers Premium 100g Special Selection (1 bag)

The buds are produced using deep steaming, and to preserve the original flavor of the tea, the selection process has been minimized, resulting in a rough tea preparation. This tea includes all parts of the harvested leaves—leaves, stems, and powder—allowing you to enjoy a rustic taste that differs from regular sencha. Rough tea refers to tea that is processed directly from the leaves harvested in the tea fields. While it is not commonly distributed, it is a favorite among fans because it allows for a rich tasting experience of the tea's inherent flavors. Since rough tea is made from the leaves as they are grown in the fields, we are particularly particular about the quality of the leaves to confidently it. Most commercially available teas are blends of leaves from different regions and qualities to achieve a balance in color, aroma, flavor, shape, and price. Deep steamed tea is made by steaming for 2 to 3 times longer than regular tea, which makes it easier for the tea's components to be extracted, resulting in a rich and flavorful green tea with less astringency. Kakegawa City, often featured on television as a city of longevity, has many residents who drink "deep steamed tea." The longer steaming time allows nutrients from the leaves that typically do not dissolve to be included in the tea.
