Free The Tone instrument cables are developed over time under the concept of "a sound you want to keep playing." Prototypes are repeatedly made while balancing electrical performance and durability, so that the actual sound feels comfortable. To examine new materials and new structures, more than 20 types of cable have been prototyped over the past 5 years.

CU-7030 is an instrument shield cable with a comfortable sound that was finally reached. Features include a protective sleeve in black with blue accents, and a plug cap made of zinc alloy with the Free The Tone original wave mark.

Covering the surface of a shield cable with a protective sleeve is a long-established method. The company examined how changing the sleeve material affects sound quality, cable handling feel, and how easily coil memory forms. In the end, the method adopted wraps fiber around the outside of the cable while weaving it in.

A new plug cap was also developed. This is the first time Free The Tone has produced plug caps by casting. The zinc alloy used in casting is described as having high durability and strength. Using this plug cap suppresses harsh high-frequency overtone components and produces a soft, solid sound.

CU-7030 was developed to pursue a comfortable character, with the sound attack and tone refined using various guitars, basses, and amplifiers. Try slightly reducing the guitar volume and tone, and you should notice a comfortable change in sound. A shield cable is also part of the instrument. Enjoy playing with CU-7030.
