Mino ware is a general term for ceramics produced in the region spanning Toki, Tajimi, Mizunami, and Kani cities in Gifu Prefecture. With a long history and tradition, Mino ware accounts for approximately 60% of the national share of tableware production, making it a representative example of Japanese pottery. Because of the sheer variety of pottery produced, it's said that "the lack of a defining characteristic is the defining characteristic of Mino ware." By creating works that match the trends of each era, Mino ware has remained beloved throughout its more than 1300-year history. Enjoy the techniques that have been passed down through the ages.
