*Important Notes Regarding Electrical Appliances*
[Voltage]
Japanese electrical appliances are designed for Japanese voltage specifications (90–110V). Using them with a different voltage may cause malfunctions; please use a voltage transformer.
[Plug Type]
Japanese electrical appliances use Japanese plug configurations (Type A or Type B).
Please use a plug adapter if necessary.
[Important Information: Voltage Transformers vs. Plug Adapters]
A voltage transformer adjusts the voltage to match your device's specifications.
A plug adapter merely changes the plug shape and does not adjust the voltage.
Using only a plug adapter without a voltage transformer may result in product damage.
[Disclaimer]
We accept no liability for malfunctions or damage resulting from improper use, such as operating the device without a voltage transformer.
One jerk is all it takes to understand: even at the 165mm size, it delivers a true DIVE★STAR performance.
Weight (g): 165 ◆ Type: Diving Pencil ◆ Action: "Sasoidashi" (lure-out) jerk action ◆ Diving Depth: 0.5m ◆ Hook Spec: Heavy-duty #2/0 ◆ Ring Spec: #6 Ultra-heavy (150lb class)
We focused intently on replicating the 220F's action in the 165mm size; the back-mounted weight, combined with the flat head and side profile, generates intense hydrodynamic waves. Particular attention was paid to the surfacing-and-sliding action immediately following the jerk—a movement that prevents the target from losing interest and triggers an immediate strike.
Design Philosophy
Our goal was to create a diving pencil lure that anyone could handle with ease. We believed that thoroughly refining its fundamental performance was the key to achieving this. First and foremost is casting distance—the ability to quickly deliver the lure to distant bait balls or hotspots. Flight stability is crucial here; if the lure spins or wobbles in the air, you cannot achieve satisfactory distance. We fine-tuned the weight balance of the Dive Star and designed it with a body weight of 105g (125g including hooks)—keeping it light enough for a smooth, comfortable cast even with a 220mm plug. Effortless casting distance brings encounters with trophy-sized fish well within reach.
Action
The lure resists popping out of the water even during relatively aggressive or rough jerk actions. Once submerged, the flat section of the head catches the water, enabling an ideal diving action with simple rod work. Even when targeting large fish holding in deeper water, the lure’s side profile generates powerful pressure waves that broadcast its presence from the surface, triggering the fish's predatory instinct to strike. The body features a holographic finish created through 3D analysis of actual fish skin. By layering a scale-like stripe pattern, we successfully replicated the realistic sheen of a live fish. Named "ADEL," this original hologram was developed through a powerful collaboration between Daiwa and the Murata Gold Leaf Group—a gold leaf manufacturer established in 1865. This marks the world's first use of this technology. The mouth area of the head is finished with a high-visibility color to ensure the lure remains easy to track, even in rough water conditions. Finally, it comes equipped with heavy-shank, rust-resistant treble hooks attached via robust 230lb split rings, ensuring you are ready to handle unexpected encounters with massive fish.
Product Details
Body Shape Designed for Easy Retrieval
The flat head and side surfaces generate intense vibrations. The lure is engineered to produce a rising sliding action immediately after a jerk; this movement prevents fish from losing interest and triggers an immediate strike.
Heavy-Gauge Treble Hooks
Comes equipped with heavy-shank, thick-gauge treble hooks as standard. These rust-resistant, tin-plated hooks are robust enough to handle unexpectedly large fish.
Features "ADEL" Hologram Technology Based on the Science of Fish Skin
Developed through rigorous scientific analysis and 3D modeling of actual fish skin, this technology uses holograms to replicate the luster of a live fish with stunning realism. Named "ADEL," this proprietary Daiwa hologram technology captures the natural, glossy sheen of real fish skin.
