In the early 1980s, Brian Eno devised an effect called "Shimmer," which became popular through its use in U2's "Unforgettable Fire" (1984), among other things. This effect was a mix of ambient reverb and an octave effect in the decay of the reverb. The 3 Series Octave Reverb takes this classic effect, which has been for decades, and adds JHS's unique twist, allowing you to create pads and textures with your guitar and fill your ambient space. Switching the toggle switch to the up position produces an upper octave sound, while switching it to the down position produces a lower octave sound.
