METHOD OF USE
Preparation of the substrate
• Raw wood intended for varnishing should be cleaned and dry, smooth, free from dust, grease and resin stains.
• Resinous and greasy wood should be washed with extraction naphtha and dried.
• The wood should be seasoned and dried beforehand, with a moisture content no higher than 20%; damp wood will not absorb the colorless impregnation and will cause the varnish to separate from the wood
120-320, and additionally polish the surface.
• Surfaces exposed to long-term water and snow deposition (e.g. front surfaces of garden pickets) should be smooth, without any defects or tears, thoroughly polished and with rounded edges.
• Round all sharp edges of the wood to a minimum radius of 2mm – this allows you to apply the same amount of product as on flat surfaces (the product will not run off)
• On horizontal surfaces exposed to water and snow, it is recommended to make a slope of at least 15 degrees for quick water drainage.
• Preparing new elements – pay attention to sealing the joints of individual details of the object against water ingress.
• Wash, degrease and dry.
• In the case of renovation of previously impregnated or varnished objects, the elements subjected to renovation should be disassembled, the surfaces should be washed, possibly degreased, and if they have been soiled with greasy substances, dried, and wiped with sandpaper until a uniform color is obtained.
• Apply the varnish stain according to the guidelines below in "Varnishing"
• After drying, screw together again
• Seal cross-joints and multi-layer joints with silicone or polymer sealants to limit water penetration
• Product preparation
• Before use, mix the product thoroughly to ensure a uniform consistency and color.
• Do not dilute.
• Repeat mixing during application.
• Apply at substrate and ambient temperatures from +5°C to +30°C and relative air humidity up to 65%
• Apply the varnish stain evenly over the entire surface along the wood grain, at least 2 layers.
• Apply subsequent layers at minimum 12-hour intervals.
If the surface is not dusty and is rubbery, it means that the coating has not dried sufficiently.
• Properly applied varnish/stain produces transparent coatings with visible wood grain.
• Apply the varnish stain with a brush, a swab, or by spraying.
• Apply the varnish to each surface/side of the element – do not leave any raw wood surface.
• After 7 days, the surface acquires its full resistance properties.
• For cleaning tools, use an oil-phthalic thinner or an aromatic-free thinner produced by FFiL Śnieżka S.A.
• Do not apply varnish stain on fresh layers of Vidaron Protective and Decorative Impregnation in the color - it may cause loss of adhesion
