1. Maximum Output Current: 1A.
According to the official data sheet, the theoretical maximum output current is 3A; however, at this level, the chip will generate heat and output voltage ripple will increase. Therefore, when power consumption exceeds 6W, to ensure normal module operation, please be sure to install a heat sink for the TPS5430 chip to dissipate heat and prevent unnecessary damage. The recommended maximum output current is 1A.
2. Module Efficiency: The higher the input voltage, the lower the power supply’s output efficiency; power supply efficiency also decreases as the load decreases; efficiency on the negative voltage side is lower than that on the positive voltage side.
For example, with a 12V input and a ±5V output, when the output is connected to a 10Ω load, the efficiency on the +5V output side is no less than 82%, and the efficiency on the -5V output side is no less than 75%.
3. Module Output DC Voltage Ripple
With a 12V input and ±5V output, the ripple is less than 6 mV under no-load conditions. When the output is connected to a 10Ω load, the ripple on the +5V output is approximately 10 mV, and the ripple on the -5V output is approximately 40 mV.
The higher the input voltage, the greater the ripple; the heavier the load, the greater the output ripple.
