Among them is the Ford Zakspeed Capri Turbo, a racing car developed in 1978 by the German racing team “Zakspeed” for the DRM (German Racing Championship). The body, born from thorough wind tunnel testing, is extremely low and wide. The engine is a 1427cc inline-4 Cosworth BDA. Equipped with a KKK turbocharger, it boasts a maximum output of 375 horsepower. Furthermore, the vehicle weight of only 790kg, with most of the body panels made of FRP, is also a characteristic feature. The Zakspeed Capri debuted at Hockenheim in the summer of 1978 and achieved its first victory in a sprint race at the Nürburgring in October.
