Daiwa RYOGA 1520HL Round Casting Reel

Round baitcasting reels have become a staple in both freshwater and saltwater scenes, and Daiwa has raised the standard to the highest level with the new Ryoga. The machine-cut aluminum alloy frame and side plates are the foundation upon which this technology is built. The G1 Duralumin spool is 1.3 times stronger than standard aircraft-grade aluminum and twice as strong as magnesium. Precision machining dramatically reduces the weight of the spool while maintaining proper strength without the need for drilling. Because the pinion rides on an independent shaft, the spool rotates freely and is not hindered by gear train friction during casting. The Magforce Z braking system allows the spool to start faster and spin longer, increasing casting distance and virtually eliminating backlash. The new Hyper Mesh Gearing system increases gear contact by up to 50%, and the Ultimate Tournament Drag (UTD) provides sustained stopping power. Magsealed bearings prevent the intrusion of water and dirt, ensuring the reel lasts longer. The 90mm swept handle moves the handle knobs closer to the centerline of the rod, reducing rod and reel wobble during cranking. The result is a cutting-edge reel worthy of the Ryoga name.
