BULOVA Air Warden 10BS 15 Jewels Circa 1943 Manual Wind Bulova
This is a vintage BULOVA hand-wound wristwatch that is estimated to have been manufactured around 1943 during World War II, over 80 years ago.Popular black dial!
The model is presumed to be Air Warden.
The movement is equipped with BULOVA Cal.10BS and 15 jewels.
Case diameter:
Approximately 28mm (including crown)
Lug width:
approx. 14mm
*This is the men's size at the time.
The engraving on the inside of the case is
BULOVA
10K ROLLED GOLD PLATE BEZEL
STERLING BASE
STAINLESS BACK
NEW YORK
The case is made of sterling silver with a 10K rolled gold plated bezel, and the case back is made of stainless steel, typical of BULOVA at the time.
The dial has a 1940s aviation/military design with large Arabic numerals, a small second at 6 o'clock, and hour and minute hands that appear to be luminous.
Although it has aged over 80 years and the numbers have faded, we recommend it to those who enjoy the atmosphere and taste unique to antiques.
The first and second photos are when the belt is attached with an extension band that has been processed to look like rust to match the vintage atmosphere, and when it is attached with a nylon belt.I will provide both.
I purchased one that was overhauled around October 2024.Please note that we have not carried out an overhaul for the details. As you can see in the image, the movement is in very good condition.
The windshield has been replaced and is relatively clear and visibility is good.
Since this watch is over 80 years old, we cannot guarantee the same accuracy, waterproofness, and durability as modern watches. We also recommend maintenance and overhaul as necessary.
There was also a model in the same line called Nighthawk, and it seems that at that time it was a transition period for model names. This item is listed as likely to be an Air Warden from around 1943 based on the movement, case, age, etc. Please take a look at the advertisement images from that time that feature both models.
When shipped, the watch will be placed in the watch case shown in the image.
It will be delivered as is.Please purchase this item if you understand the characteristics of antique/vintage watches.
