The origins of sunburst paint
In guitar painting, a sunburst finish is essentially a blurring effect.
This has the effect of creating a sense of continuity in the body color.
This paint scheme originates from stringed instruments essential to classical music, such as violins.
It has become synonymous with high-end guitars.
Even today, instrument manufacturers such as Gibson and Fender still favor the luxurious sunburst finish.
[Walnut] The world's three most prized hardwoods are teak, mahogany, and walnut, but walnut is known as kurumi in Japanese. Walnut is a strong, lightweight, and extremely valuable wood with a slightly coarse grain and a unique luster. The surface is a beautiful, deep brown with the characteristic sheen of walnut. It has a glossy finish and becomes even more beautiful with age and the effects of tannins.
