QualDrop HEXPURE 150ml removes NO2 NO3 NH3
HEXPURE is a synthetic polymer filter material with a macroporous structure. It is in the form of fine granules. Hexpure, thanks to its structure and properties, provides not only absorbing properties, but also ion exchange properties.
HEX - PURE… or at least SIX benefits
1. By removing organic pollutants containing nitrogen compounds, it allows you to control the levels of NH4, NO2 and NO3.
2. Does not absorb essential microelements.
3. Increases the oxidation-reduction potential (ORP).
4. Makes the water very clear.
5. Can be used in both freshwater and marine aquariums.
6. Efficient – 25 ml of HEXPURE is enough to purify approx. 100 l of water for up to 6 months. Can be regenerated.
Use approximately 25 ml for every 100 liters of water in the tank, placing Hexpure in a bag designed for very fine filter media, e.g. QD Dural Bag. Before placing the bag with the product in the filter, tie the bag and rinse several times under running water.
The bag with the product should be placed in the filter as the last filter medium. Hexpure has a specific odor – this is a normal feature of the product and is not a defect. A change in the color of Hexpure to brown or black indicates its wear and tear and the need for regeneration.
To place Hexpure in the filter, we recommend Dural Bag - specially created, chemically resistant bags in two sizes: M (10 x 15 cm) and L (13 x 25 cm), reusable, shown in the photo below. The bags are available in our online store.
The best method of regeneration is to use a pure sodium hypochlorite solution (NaClO) with a concentration of approximately 8.25%. You can also use common sodium hypochlorite-based bleaches available in stores, but make sure they do not contain fragrances.
Do not use toilet cleaning products or agents containing formic acid or hydrogen peroxide (H2O2) to regenerate Hexpure. In addition to sodium hypochlorite, toilet cleaning agents contain thickening substances (including so-called amine oxides), which can significantly shorten the life and effectiveness of the regeneration or even irreversibly damage Hexpure.
Use a closed plastic container for regeneration. Under no circumstances do you use metal vessels for regenerating Hexpure. Pour unscented bleach based on sodium hypochlorite (the hypochlorite concentration should be approximately 8.25%) or a sodium hypochlorite solution with a concentration of approximately 8.25%.
Close the container tightly and leave out of reach of children for 24 hours. When Hexpure regains its original light color, remove and thoroughly rinse the Hexpure bag under running water for 10 minutes.
Then place the rinsed bag in a container of clean water with a chlorine neutralizing agent for 6-8 hours. The simplest and cheapest neutralizing agent is a solution of sodium thiosulfate (Na2S2O5 x 5H2O) consisting of 1-2 level tablespoons dissolved in approximately 300-500 ml of water, or another commercial chlorine neutralizing agent.
Hexpure is suitable for reuse if there is no chlorine odor or if an additional test for free chlorine gives a negative result.
• For freshwater: Yes
• For saltwater: Yes

Hexpure should be stored tightly closed at room temperature. It has an indefinite shelf life. It should be stored moist in a tightly closed container. Do not allow the product to dry out. It should be kept moist at all times.
Furthermore, product batches may vary in color and shade. Hexpure has a specific odor – this is a normal characteristic of the product and is not a defect.
