Excursion XXX-6C is a 2-way car speaker set from the XXXTreme PRO AUDIO series. The set was designed for users who expect very high efficiency, high dynamics, and extremely loud sound in their cars.

XXX-M6 Mid-woofers – 165 mm and a powerful diameter

The Excursion XXX-M6 mid-woofers have a diameter of 165 mm, or 6.5 inches. They use a light and stiff 2-layer ADC pressed paper cone diaphragm. This design allows for fast, dynamic, and loud sound in the mid-low range.

The mid-woofers offer an efficiency of 94 dB and a frequency response of 100-10,000 Hz. This makes them well-suited to powerful systems where the speakers must keep up with a large bass section and high volume levels.

A phase plug-style dust cap improves midrange detail and linearity. This is important in cars, as the speakers often operate off-axis.

High Flux Ferrite Magnet System and 1.5-Inch Voice Coil

The XXX-M6 mid-woofers utilize an efficient High Flux Ferrite 50 oz magnet system. The diaphragm is operated by a high-temperature CCAW voice coil with a diameter of 1.5 inches (38 mm).

The voice coil former has upper ventilation holes. Additionally, the steel basket has large holes behind the diaphragm and additional holes under the lower suspension. This design improves airflow and helps cool the voice coil during very loud operation.

The upper suspension is made of double-pressed, UV-resistant foam. Two suspension folds increase mechanical strength and support stable operation under heavy loads.

XXX-T1 Tweeters – Very High Efficiency

The Excursion XXX-T1 tweeters are responsible for high frequencies. Each tweeter has an aluminum diaphragm with a mesh grille and an aluminum housing made using CNC technology.

The tweeters offer an efficiency of up to 105 dB. This allows them to work in very loud car audio systems, where traditional tweeters often do not provide sufficient sound level.

The drive is provided by an efficient High Flux Ferrite Y35 10 oz magnetic system. A high-temperature 1-inch CCAW voice coil supports stable operation under heavy loads.

XXX-2X Crossovers – 12 dB/oct Filters

The set includes two Excursion XXX-2X passive crossovers. The crossovers are 2-way and utilize an LP low-pass filter and an HP high-pass filter with a slope of 12 dB/oct.

High-quality MKP capacitors are used in the tweeter path. The crossovers also feature solid copper wire coils. The tweeter path uses air-core coils, while the mid-woofer path uses solid-core coils.

Wire connections use screw connectors. The crossovers also allow for tweeter level adjustment in the range of 0 / -3 dB using a switchable jumper.
