Black Gravel Aquarium Substrate Anti-algae Washed 2-4mm 1kg Plant

- for aquarium decoration

- as an aquarium substrate

Safe substrates from ECO PLANT or gravel from a stone yard?

Usually, gravel and sand available at auctions come from construction yards. This is the main cause of algae formation, the death of plants and fish. This is due to unstable pH, unknown chemical compounds contained in the gravel, and colonized viruses, fungi, and pathogens that are present despite washing and boiling by the unfortunate user.

Just buy a ton of gravel for two hundred and tell aquarists it's aquarium gravel. Stop this hypocrisy!

Eco Plant offers natural gravel taken from aquatic environments, for your aquarium. This gravel has much better properties than construction gravel used for making concrete. It doesn't cause pH fluctuations, doesn't contain harmful substances, and the only bacteria present are nitrifying bacteria.

Due to its neutrality to water, structure, porosity, and color, the gravel has virtually "anti-algae" properties and doesn't promote algae growth.

Decoration or main substrate?

It's up to you. The gravel will work great as an "island" or river in an aquarium. You can also use it as the main substrate.

Is it suitable for planting?

Absolutely. You can easily plant aquatic plants in this substrate.

To rinse or not to rinse?

The gravel is rinsed and colonized with bacteria. Unfortunately, during transport, the gravel is slightly worn (stone rubs against stone), causing a coating that needs to be rinsed off.

Rinsing takes little time and is safe. Remember to rinse under running water at a slightly warm temperature (lukewarm water).

Why is the gravel wet after opening the package?

1: it is taken straight from the water and packed in a double bag.

2: this allows bacteria to live and multiply
