COLD-PRESSED, UNREFINED RAPESEED OIL
It is made from rapeseed – a characteristic, oily plant with yellow flowers. In Poland, in terms of cultivated area, rapeseed is surpassed only by triticale and wheat. Cold-pressed, i.e. As much as 3 kilograms of seeds are used to produce 1 liter of rapeseed oil!
^ HIGH OMEGA-3 FATTY ACIDS CONTENT
Gold from Polish fields
Rapeseed oil is currently the most popular vegetable fat. Of all vegetable fats, it has the highest content of linolenic and oleic acids. Therefore, rapeseed oil – cold-pressed or not – is more recommended for everyday consumption than, for example, sunflower oil.
What does rapeseed oil contain?
At our latitude, the linolenic acid present in rapeseed oil is particularly important. It's a polyunsaturated fatty acid from the omega-3 group, which the body cannot produce on its own. Its deficiency contributes to poor skin condition – dryness, lack of elasticity, accelerated aging, and the appearance of wrinkles.
Oleic acid, on the other hand, is a member of the EFA group, or essential unsaturated fatty acids, from the omega-9 group.
Olive Oil of the North
Due to its high content of this organic chemical compound, rapeseed oil is sometimes called the Olive Oil of the North. In this respect, it significantly outperforms other vegetable fats, as oleic acid is found in them in trace amounts.
Everyday Use and Diet
This popular vegetable fat contains vitamins A, E, and K, as well as plant sterols – ingredients particularly important for people struggling with high cholesterol. Rapeseed oil should definitely not be avoided or associated with weight gain.
Fatty acids are essential for the development and proper functioning of the human body, and are found only in a small group of products. The most important thing is to choose good quality rapeseed oil and consume it in the recommended amounts.
This preserves the most beneficial ingredients.
Which rapeseed oil should I choose?
Rapeseed oil is incredibly valuable in itself. However, the best choice is natural, cold-pressed rapeseed oil, made from erucic-free rapeseed. The pressing process, at a temperature no higher than 40°C, preserves almost all of its nutritional value.
Its additional benefits include a richer flavor, deeper color, and distinct aroma. Rapeseed oil produced this way is unrefined, meaning it's not purified, and therefore considered more valuable. It's made from selected rapeseed seeds, crushed or pressed—without the use of high temperatures.
The quality of any vegetable fat is also influenced by how it's stored. That's why we store our cold-pressed rapeseed oil in dark glass bottles, in a cool and shaded place.
Cold-pressed rapeseed oil
Rapeseed oil is perfect for salads, slaws, and other cold dishes.
Store in a dry, cool, and dark place. After opening, store at 4-10°C for no longer than 3-4 weeks. Natural sediment or cloudiness may form - this is a natural phenomenon that does not affect the nutritional value of the oil.
