The series as a whole features a wide latitude, allowing for a wide range of exposure tolerances while also being designed to easily handle push/pull processing. Ektapan 400 is a high-sensitivity type that is particularly easy to use within the series. With an ISO of 400, it is easy to maintain a shutter speed not only for daytime outdoor shooting but also in situations with insufficient light, such as cloudy days, evenings, and indoors, and it is also effective for handheld shooting. Despite its high sensitivity, graininess is suppressed, and it produces sharp images with clean outlines, making it suitable for a wide range of uses such as snapshots, street photography, portraits, and travel photography. This black and white film is recommended for those who want to handle many different scenes with just one roll.
