What is the ETRTO size and why is it worth it? What should you pay attention to?

ETRTO size is a standard way of designating tire size, developed by the European Tyre and Rim Technical Organization. It allows you to easily check if a new tire will fit your bike.

ETRTO is written in a format similar to a postal code – for example: 53-559. What do these numbers mean?

• 53 mm – is the tire width,

• 559 mm – is the tire's inner diameter, i.e., the size of the rim the tire must fit.

Note! The diameter (second number) must match your current tire – this cannot be changed. However, the width (first number) may be different - you can choose a narrower or wider tire, as long as it fits in the bike frame.

To be sure you're buying the right tire, look for the ETRTO marking on your current tire and choose a new one based on the same code (at least the second number).

This is the simplest and safest way to fit a tire to your bike.

CST tires are used in Poland by teams such as: CST 7R MTB Team, Hurom Sławno Accent Team, Michał Kwiatkowski Copernicus Cycling Academy and many others.
