⚙️ RECOMMENDATIONS INSTALLATION:

✅ After installing the windows, waterproofing should be carried out from the outside. Using an EPDM apron will guarantee proper waterproofing of balconies or windows.

✅ To properly install the EPDM apron, it must be thoroughly adhered to the surface. It is recommended to use a Primer/Grunt, e.g. SEAL contact adhesive in an aerosol, this is universal. This adhesive is characterized by high initial adhesion and low absorption.

Designed for priming the substrate before gluing window foils or EPDM to all standard porous or non-porous building surfaces. Before using the primer, please read the safety data sheet to ensure it should not be used on materials such as EPS or XPS.

⚙️ Why should we use Primer before gluing EPDM with full adhesive?

✅ The big advantage of EPDM with full adhesive is that it is easier to install and that the adhesive is applied to its entire surface. However, the adhesive used on an EPDM apron changes to a more liquid form under the influence of high temperatures, which may cause it to peel off and sag under the weight of the apron itself.

Therefore, before installing the apron, we recommend spraying the surface to which the EPDM will be glued with primer. This will increase its adhesion to the substrate and it will stick to the surface much better.

⚙️ Sealing the EPDM Apron Around the Perimeter with EPDM Glue

✅ An important element of the apron installation is additional sealing around the perimeter. This can only be achieved by additionally sealing the apron with EPDM glue, thanks to which we will be sure that we have closed it around the perimeter.

⚙️ Pressing the EPDM to the Surface

✅ After applying the EPDM apron to the surface, it should be carefully pressed to the substrate; a pressure roller, which we have in our range, is ideal for this.

⚙️ What Should We Do Step by Step When Installing the EPDM Apron?

✅ Order the appropriate height of the EPDM apron at one of our auctions. When ordering an apron, we need to calculate the allowance because we also glue it about 5 cm on each side onto the wall and, similarly, from a height, we need to glue it about 5 cm below the window opening.

✅ Prepare the surface with a primer to increase its adhesion, wait a few minutes for it to evaporate.

✅ Put the EPDM apron on the previously prepared surface.

✅ Seal the EPDM apron around the perimeter with EPDM glue.

✅ Use a pressure roller to obtain the same pressure on the entire glued surface.
