Nike Kyrie 4 Grade School 'Mamba Mentality' (Unisex) Black / Multi-Color Basketball Shoes AV3597 001

Kyrie Irving's fourth signature shoe, the Kyrie 4, officially debuted December 5, 2017. Benjamin Nethongkome, a rising lead designer, helmed this generation of the signature line. He previously led the design of well-received mid-tier models such as the Kobe Mentality 2, Kobe Mamba Rage, and LeBron Witness. For the Kyrie 4, Nethongkome’s overall design philosophy was rooted first and foremost in Kyrie Irving’s specific performance requirements: the need for cushioning—achieved via a Zoom Air unit in the heel of the midsole—and enhanced responsiveness for rapid directional changes. The grooved outsole pattern clearly fulfills this dual objective. Combined with the outsole construction, this design improves traction and lateral responsiveness during cuts, delivering seamless transitions.
