Deep groove ball bearings are the most common group of bearings. They are characterized by a simple design. The most important advantage of these bearings is their ability to accommodate both radial and axial loads even at high rotational speeds.
Depending on the needs, deep groove ball bearings can be supplied in various designs, such as: with reduced or increased clearances, increased accuracy classes, and with special cages adapted to work at relatively high rotational speeds.
Furthermore, these bearings are available in various designs, i.e., with 2Z shields or 2RS rubber seals, and with a groove in the N-type outer ring for axial positioning of the bearing in the housing using an R-type ring.
Thanks to this wide range of designs and qualities, deep groove ball bearings are used in all industries. Covered deep groove ball bearings with 2Z shields or 2RS rubber seals are filled by the manufacturer with a suitable running grease sufficient for average operating conditions throughout their service life.
In standard designs, covered ball bearings can operate in a temperature range of -30°C to +100°C. For difficult operating conditions (high rotational speed or temperature), the manufacturer can supply bearings with a special grease and with the appropriate filling level.
The use of covered ball bearings significantly simplifies and compacts the design of bearing arrangements. These bearings do not require relubrication, which significantly simplifies their maintenance during operation.
It is not recommended to use covered bearings in designs where the outer rings rotate, as there is a risk of grease leakage even at relatively low speeds. Covered bearings should not be washed or heated before installation.
