Swedish melodic power metal band HammerFall releases their tenth album, 'Built to Last,' their first in about two years! Following their previous album 'Revolution' (2014), which topped the Swedish national charts, they are also immensely popular as a live band across Europe. HammerFall participated in 'LOUD PARK 15' in 2015, their first Japanese performance in ten years, igniting the hearts of Japanese metal fans. The band was formed as a side project by Oscar Dronjak, who was active in the Swedish melodic death metal bands Ceremonial Oath and Crystal Age, and Jesper Strömblad (drummer for In Flames, who left to focus on In Flames), with former Highlander Joakim Cans (vocals) joining later (Jesper left to focus on In Flames). They debuted with the album 'Glory to the Brave' (1997).

HammerFall, recognized as a new generation pure metal band, saw their third album 'Renegade' (2000) reach No. 1 on the Swedish national charts. All subsequent albums up to their ninth 'Revolution' ranked within the top four on the charts (including two number 1s and two number 2s). They are truly a band with nationwide popularity, and their latest album 'Built to Last,' released about two years after the previous one, is also expected to be a big hit.

After the previous album, bassist and drummer Anders Johansson (former Silver Mountain and Ingvay Malmsteen's Rising Force) left the band, and this album is the first with new drummer David Wallin. His sharp drumming power is evident in the energetic tracks. The album features a variety of songs—from speed metal tunes to heavy mid-tempo tracks and even melodic numbers—centered around edgy guitar work. The melodies sung by Joakim Cans are also outstanding. Many songs are perfect for singing along at live shows, which is typical of European metal festival bands. This 'Built to Last,' packed with HammerFall's full charm, is sure to captivate even more metal fans than ever before.
