Sony Beethoven Piano Sonata Collection Volume 1 Departure

[Product Description]

Introduction

World-renowned pianist Yū Kusuga's new release after two years is a cycle of Beethoven's piano sonatas, often called the 'New Testament of Music.' This grand project plans to release five volumes (each a two-disc set) over five years, each with a specific theme. Despite being in her twenties, Yū Kusuga already demonstrates profound artistic insight and presents her unique interpretation of Beethoven. The theme of the first volume is 'Departure.' It features three pieces from Beethoven's Op. 2, which marked his initial steps as a composer, and three pieces from Op. 31, which are his first sonatas written after the famous 'Heiligenstadt Testament.' This selection reflects Kusuga's deep insight. ■ SA-CD Hybrid ■ 2-disc set
