Amazon Review

Although she is said to have risen to stardom overnight, for Vonda Shepard, who broke out on the popular TV series Ally McBeal, it was the result of nearly ten years of touring and releasing three albums, followed by a long period of struggle before finally achieving fame. This album features most of Shepard's cover songs performed in the series' first year, from the familiar "Hooked on a Feeling" to the well-arranged 1960s classic "Walk Away Renee." Of course, Shepard's original songs are also wonderful. "Searching My Soul" is undoubtedly the song that best represents this album. (David Sprague, Amazon.com)
