This is a formal juzu (prayer beads) for men of the Jodo Shinshu sect. The material is tiger’s eye, which is particularly popular with men for its inherent properties. These beads are a slightly larger size than the common 20 or 22 bead sizes. This is a size recommended by a juzu specialty shop, imparting a sense of dignity and luxury that won’t feel out of place as you age. Because tiger’s eye comes in a variety of grades, we have carefully selected beautiful stones for their quality. Furthermore, as a juzu specialty shop, we pay attention to every detail of the o-fusa (tassels), and these are crafted with an 8-strand braid. Increasing the number of strands adds volume to the braided section of the tassel, significantly enhancing the overall appearance of the juzu.
