・[De Tomaso] Pantela is a supercar that debuted in 1971. It was created through collaboration between [De Tomaso] of Italy and [Ford] of the United States. The body was developed and designed by Carrozzeria Ghia of Italy, and is characterized by a low vehicle height and a wedge-shaped form. A powerful 5.8-liter V8 engine for medium and large [Ford] vehicles is mounted in the center of the vehicle. The main market was the United States, where it was sold at [Lincoln]/[Mercury] dealerships – the high-end division of [Ford] – as an exotic car of mixed American and Italian heritage, and it was well-received. The 1970s saw peak production with sales exceeding 2,000 units per year, but it continued to be produced with various improvements until 1992, becoming a long-lived model. The model chosen by [Hot Wheels] is a competition model extensively modified to comply with Group 4 (Special Grand Touring Car) regulations of the FIA (International Automobile Federation). The engine output is increased by nearly 200 horsepower compared to the standard vehicle, generating over 500 horsepower. To transmit the great power to the road surface, it is equipped with wide tires covered by overfenders, which is its most distinctive feature.
