A slightly different adventure with Mario and friends. "Super Mario RPG," released 27 years ago on Super Famicom, returns with updated graphics for Nintendo Switch.
■Story
■ Mario heads to Bowser's castle to rescue the kidnapped Peach. After defeating Bowser, just when he feels relieved, a giant sword suddenly falls from the sky. The sword pierces Bowser's castle, and Mario, blown away by the impact, sets off again to search for Peach. Along the way, he learns that the sword has destroyed the "Star Road," which grants people's wishes, scattering its fragments, the "Star Pieces," across the world. Together with strong allies he meets during his journey, he embarks on an adventure to collect the Star Pieces and restore a peaceful world where wishes come true.
■Explore the fields using jumps
■ Utilizing Mario's signature "jump" action, players will solve puzzles and explore various fields and dungeons.
■Allies joining Mario on the adventure
■ "Mallow," who claims to be a frog with a fluffy body, and "Geno," a celestial messenger who visits Mario's world to retrieve the Star Pieces, along with the familiar Bowser and Peach from the Mario series, will join the adventure.
■Battle using action commands
■ In "Action Command Battle," players time their actions during attacks and defenses. When the action command is executed correctly during battles with monsters, it can damage to all monsters or reduce incoming damage to zero. In this game, if action commands are successfully executed in succession, a "chain" is formed, enhancing the abilities of allies and making battles more advantageous. For beginners, a support feature shows a "!" mark for perfect timing. Additionally, each successful action command fills a gauge. When this gauge reaches 100%, the three characters in battle can combine their powers to unleash a special "three-person technique."
■Additional elements
■ After the ending, players can rematch some of the bosses encountered during the adventure. These rematch bosses are significantly powered up. Other features include a "Monster List" that records various information from battles with monsters and a "Sound Player" that allows players to listen to the BGM from both the Super Famicom and Nintendo Switch versions at any time (the Sound Player becomes available after the ending). A difficulty level called "Enjoy" makes battles easier, and support features for the adventure
