It supports 5G Sub-6 GHz SA with download speeds up to 223 Mbps and upload speeds up to 123 Mbps, as well as 4G LTE Cat 4 connectivity.

The router features dual SIM support with two Mini SIM slots, allowing flexible operator management and connection configuration. It supports multiple PDNs, APN management, band locking, SIM PIN control and operator blacklists or whitelists. Built-in connection monitoring functions include Ping Reboot, Wget Reboot, periodic reboot and LCP or ICMP link inspection.

Wireless networking is protected by a comprehensive range of security standards, including WPA2 and WPA3, WPA-Enterprise, WPA-PSK, OWE, AES-CCMP, client separation and 802.11w Protected Management Frames. The router also supports MAC address filtering, hidden SSID operation, EAP-TLS certificates and Wi-Fi QR code generation.

Two Ethernet RJ45 ports provide WAN and LAN connectivity with support for 10/100 Mbps Ethernet functions, auto MDI/MDIX and port management. The device supports static and dynamic routing, VLAN separation, DHCP, QoS, load balancing, network backup and automatic failover using wired, mobile, Wi-Fi WAN or VRRP connections.

For secure remote access and network integration, the RUT271 supports VPN technologies such as OpenVPN, IPsec, GRE, L2TP, WireGuard, ZeroTier, Tailscale, DMVPN, SSTP and Tinc. Additional firewall functions include port forwarding, DMZ, NAT, NAT-T, NAT64, custom traffic rules, DDoS protection and port scan prevention.

The router runs on RutOS, an OpenWrt-based Linux operating system. It can be managed through Web UI, HTTPS, CLI or SSH, with firmware updates available via FOTA, RMS or a local file. Remote monitoring and administration are supported by Teltonika Networks RMS, while built-in diagnostics provide information about the mobile connection, signal strength, network type, band and data usage.
