The Sony ECM-B1M is a compact camera-mount digital shotgun microphone for interchangeable lens cameras, delivering sharp directivity and clean, professional-grade audio for interviews, vlogging, and filmmaking.

Directivity & Beamforming - Eight high-performance microphone units combined with a beamforming algorithm provide extremely sharp directivity, effectively rejecting off-axis sound - Three switchable pickup patterns in one microphone: super-directional (cardioid), unidirectional, and omnidirectional - Simple switch control lets you quickly select the pattern that suits your shooting scenario

Audio Quality & Controls - Record level control and an attenuator (pad) make it easy to set optimal signal levels for smooth, stress-free post-production - Selectable digital/analog output for compatibility with a wide range of Sony cameras - Low-cut filter helps reduce wind noise and low-frequency rumble

Digital Connection - When connected via the Multi Interface (MI) Shoe of a compatible camera with a built-in digital audio interface, audio is transferred directly in digital form, avoiding degradation - The analog output switch extends compatibility to a wider range of Sony cameras using an analog interface

Design & Build - Remarkably compact at only approx. 99.3mm (3.91") in length - Weighs approx. 2.8 oz (79g) for lightweight, on-the-go use - Clips directly into the camera's Multi Interface Shoe for direct power and audio connection — no extra cables or batteries required

Note: The ECM-B1M is designed for use with Sony cameras equipped with a Multi Interface (MI) Shoe. Digital audio interface functionality requires a compatible camera body (e.g. α7R IV, α7C, FX3, FX30 and later models); on earlier MI Shoe cameras it operates via the analog output.
