Sony Band of Gypsys Jimi Hendrix Music Album

[Product Description]

Product Description

Released in 1970. After the Experience disbanded in 1969, Hendrix formed Band of Gypsys with his military friend Billy Cox and Buddy Miles (drums/vocals), who also appeared on 'Electric Ladyland'. They performed at the Fillmore East in New York from New Year's Eve 1969 into 1970. This album captures that live performance. Band of Gypsys disbanded without releasing any studio albums, making this their only release. It was also Hendrix's last work released during his lifetime. All members of this band, who are Black, are characterized by a stronger soul and funk influence compared to the Experience. You can glimpse the direction Hendrix was aiming for after 'Electric Ladyland'. The guitar playing that freely soars through space and Miles' soulful vocals are highlights.
