The PRO1D ProSofton [A](W) filter exhibits a beautiful soft effect that creates a gentle glow of light, and is also used in astrophotography such as starry sky photography. Its characteristic soft and gentle depiction can sometimes cause entire scenes, including buildings and landscapes, to appear softly blurred when included in the composition.

The PRO1D ProSofton Clear (W) reduces the soft effect to about half of that of the PRO1D ProSofton [A](W), allowing bright stars such as constellations to be beautifully diffused while emphasizing their colors, and keeping the depiction of buildings, mountains, rocks, and other subjects clear. This effect filter is especially useful for starry sky and landscape photography, capturing both the stars and scenery. Its slim frame design minimizes vignetting, making it suitable for wide-angle lenses, and it can be used in combination with light pollution cut filters like the Starry Night or cross filters like the R-Twinkle Star (W) for even more expressive photography. In portrait photography, it can provide sharpness while softly rendering highlights.
