There are many types of coffee filter paper available on the market, but it would be a mistake to think they're just paper, and there's not much difference, even if you use paper. Our CAFEC filter paper has a "double-sided crepe." While other standard paper only has crepe on one side, CAFEC paper retains its double-sided crepe thanks to our unique papermaking technology (air-drying). By perfectly balancing the crepe height on both sides, it maintains a sufficient air layer between the paper and the dripper to allow water to flow at the ideal speed. This means that "double-sided crepe" can be considered a sign of good filter paper. It's paper, but not just paper! Filter paper made of REFINED PULP (white version): Preserves the original flavor of ground coffee and makes drip coffee very strong. T-92 (now TH-1) Thickness-1: Thickness 0.15mm Density: High Single-Sided Crepe (no crepe inside or outside). There is no crepe inside the paper, so the internal surface area is small. Fine coffee powder settles in this small area, so a small amount of water remains, which accumulates inside the filter paper. By accumulating water, a wealth of aroma is released. Moreover, thanks to the external crepe, the coffee liquid flows smoothly out. Because the paper density is high, almost all the fine powder is perfectly removed, leaving you with a clean cup of coffee. T-90 (now TH-2) Thickness-3: Thickness 0.28mm Density: Low Double-Sided Crepe (well-balanced height). The well-balanced double-sided crepe ensures smooth water flow. The surface area is the largest among the three papers, so the water path can be maintained until the end, even if all the fine powder is applied. The smooth water flow creates a well-balanced, rich cup. T-83 (now TH-3) Thickness-2: Thickness 0.22 mm Density: Medium Double-Sided Crepe (Low Height) This paper is creped on both sides, but the crepe height is set to a lower level. The surface area is slightly larger than that of One-Sided Crepe, meaning the fine powder's adhesion area is also larger. In the first half of brewing, because the fine powder's adhesion is not as strong, the water flows more smoothly, but in the second half, its adhesion becomes stronger, inhibiting the water flow. The initial rapid, then slower water flow complements the coffee's body and sweetness. Abaca+ Abaca+ filter paper is made using a new "fine-grain" production technology. We have managed to increase the paper's surface area by narrowing the distance between the individual crepes, and, more importantly, we have achieved a uniform water flow by unifying the paper's texture. Abaca+ filter paper is not only made from abaca but is also FSC® certified. Furthermore, the overall packaging volume is reduced by reducing the crepe height, which helps reduce shipping costs.
