The pioneer of chillwave, Washed Out, has completed a work! Fully self-produced, the fifth album "Notes From a Quiet Life," mixed by Nathan Boddy (James Blake, Mura Masa) and David Wrench (Caribou, Florence + the Machine), is released. Washed Out's music always floats above a timeless frontier. You can feel this in his immersive, amorphous vocals, expansive soundscapes, and poignant storytelling. Ernest Greene's transcendent output has been referred to as the "Godfather of Chillwave" by Pitchfork, and his track "Feel It All Around" was borrowed as the theme song for the TV series "Portlandia." Washed Out's latest work "Notes From a Quiet Life" is released after providing a uniquely varied creative reimagining at an astonishingly high level for over a decade. Experiments in painting and sculpture help my music. They influence each other. It was a kind of realization for me. I don't want to look back on my life someday and think, 'Oh, it was all to maximize productivity.' I want to enjoy this," Greene explains. It is this pure vision that makes "Notes From a Quiet Life" powerful. This album is the first fully self-produced album by Greene, with mixing assistance from Nathan Boddy (James Blake, Mura Masa) and David W
