Kyoto-produced Uji Matcha 80g powder domestic. Due difficulty sourcing domestic ingredients changed organic ingredients.

Product Description Test 1 Matcha is an incredibly familiar tea that is widely used in beverages, sweets, matcha salt, and cooking, to the point where it hardly needs an introduction. Many may also know that the leaves used as the raw material for tea come from the same variety. Generally, the most produced and consumed tea in Japan is known as Sencha. The differences between Sencha and Matcha are as follows: Sencha: Typically grown in lush tea fields, exposed to plenty of sunlight, which increases the delicious bitterness from catechins. Matcha: Grown under black cloth to block sunlight from the early stages, resulting in less catechin and a higher concentration of umami and depth from amino acids like theanine. There are also differences after harvesting! Sencha leaves are steamed and then dried while being rolled, whereas Matcha is dried without rolling and then ground into a fine powder (known as tencha). Because Matcha requires blocking sunlight during cultivation and includes steaming, drying, and grinding processes, it often becomes more expensive than other common teas like Sencha. Due to the extra effort involved, Matcha is now considered a type of superfood, packed with flavor and nutrients! This powder allows you to easily enjoy and use Matcha, which is gaining attention as a superfood not only in Japan but also overseas!
