Calcium AKG Longevity, 60 Capsules (500 mg per Capsule)

Dietary Supplement 1,000 mg Per Serving Promotes Metabolic Function and Longevity: Alpha-ketoglutarate (AKG) is a compound that is created naturally in the body but tends to diminish with age. In supplement form, AKG can be attached to a calcium salt (Ca-AKG), which has been studied for its role in supporting metabolic function and longevity. Stimulates Autophagy: Autophagy, our internal recycling process that removes dysfunctional cells, decreases with age. Ca-AKG has been found to support this process. Aides in Bone and Muscle Health: Ca-AKG is involved in stimulating protein synthesis and energy production in the body, as it is a vital component of the Krebs cycle - the process that creates ATP (energy) from food. Ca-AKG is also a source of the essential amino acids needed to make collagen, which is a protein that helps to support bone and muscle health. Supports Blood Sugar Regulation: As we age, our bodies become less efficient at regulating blood sugar. Research shows that Ca-AKG can help to support healthy blood sugar levels. Supports Cellular Health: The mitochondria, our cells’ main energy hub decreases with age leading to aging and numerous age-related health concerns. Ca-AKG has been found to activate AMPK a pathway that helps maintain cellular energy and support cellular function. Improves Antioxidant Levels: Ca-AKG has also been shown to boost cellular antioxidant levels in aged mice, which helped support the mice’s blood vessel elasticity - a measure of good cardiovascular health.
