Rational lens design that achieves both miniaturization and high depiction performance
With a reasonable lens design with 11 elements in the 8 groups, we have achieved high depiction power even though it is small. By applying a ZERO coating that thoroughly eliminates ghosts and flares, which were difficult to prevent until now, clear depiction performance is ensured even under adverse conditions such as backlighting.
DSA (large partial bifacial aspherical) lens
It is a large flat bifacial aspherical lens with an extremely large ratio of thickness between the center and periphery of the lens, which was successfully mass-produced by OM Digital Solutions ahead of the world.
Super HR (Ultra High Refractive Index) Lenses

ZERO (Zuiko Extra-Low Reflection Optical) coating
It is an advanced anti-reflection coating that uses thin film control technology cultivated through advanced microscopic multilayer film deposition technology. We have succeeded in reducing the reflectivity at wavelengths of 450 to 650 nm to about half of what it used to be. The film strength is strong due to vacuum evaporation, and no matter how many times you wipe the lens, it is scratch-resistant, and maintains low reflection. In addition to achieving clear depiction performance with high transmittance (transparency), it also minimizes the occurrence of ghosts and flares even under adverse conditions such as backlight photography.

The inner focus method used in conventional single-lens reflex interchangeable lenses has evolved further. A screw drive mechanism was adopted as the drive system to achieve “quick,” “smooth,” “quiet,” and “high-accuracy” AF (autofocus). Due to the advanced optical design that enables focusing with a lightweight and small number of images, the ED 12mm F2.0 performs focusing with a single lens.

Focus moves to a specified distance “snapshot focus mechanism”
In combination with the aperture value, a mechanism called a “snapshot focus mechanism” was installed as a mechanism to enjoy pan-focus shooting with a snap. When you slide the focus ring forward, the focus position moves to a specified distance, and when the focus ring is rotated, the focus position moves to the position of the distance scale engraved on the lens barrel.
