Rag Rug Small Charcoal Greys 50x90cm

A small cotton rag rug brings instant texture to a quiet corner, with deep charcoal, inky blue and pale woven lines giving the surface a softly lived-in look. The low, striped weave feels relaxed rather than formal, made for bare feet, layered rooms and everyday use indoors.

What you see and feel first

The colour story is dark and grounding, with charcoal and blue tones broken by slim pale stripes.

A ribbed woven surface gives the rug a tactile, casual feel underfoot.

Fringed ends soften the shape, adding the easy character of a traditional rag rug.

The striped pattern works well beside a bed, in a hallway, or as a small accent in a living space.

Its darker palette is practical for busy rooms while still feeling warm and homely.

Cotton strips with a woven, textural finish

This rug is made from cotton, arranged in a dense rag-rug weave with visible rows of fabric-like texture. The surface is not flat and glossy; it has the slight irregularity and depth that make woven floor textiles feel personal.

Why rag rugs feel so enduring

Rag rugs belong to a long practical textile tradition, turning narrow strips of cloth into useful floor coverings through simple warp-and-weft weaving. In India, chindi-style rag rugs are closely associated with making use of textile remnants, creating colour and pattern from what would otherwise be overlooked. This piece carries that spirit in a clean, modern charcoal-grey palette, so it sits easily in contemporary homes while still feeling connected to slow, resourceful craft.

Living with it at home

Use it indoors where you want softness without heaviness: beside the bed, by a reading chair, in front of a low cabinet, or as a small runner in a calm hallway. On polished wood, tile or other smooth floors, pair it with a suitable rug underlay to help keep it in place.

Care for the cotton weave

Shake it out regularly and spot clean gently when needed. Keep cotton rugs away from prolonged damp, and let the rug dry fully bef…
