Since ancient times, dragons have been worshipped as gods of fertility who bring rain, and as they firmly grasp a wish-granting jewel symbolizing wealth and good fortune, driving away all misfortune with their majesty. Kannon Bodhisattva, who appeared from the far western Pure Land, is said to transform into 33 different forms to save people suffering from various hardships, and it is said that praying to this figure will turn nightmares into good fortune. In the background is a sutra called "Shozai Ju," which says that all disasters and misfortunes that befall one will be wiped away. This is a sublime painting of good fortune and warding off evil, depicting Kannon Bodhisattva riding on a five-clawed dragon god, considered the highest ranking, appearing to save all living beings in a dignified manner.
