Due to the characteristics of its ingredients, silver plating may change color for a certain period of time after manufacturing. New mouthpieces may retain characteristics of the ebonite material and may discolor if stored in the instrument case with silver-plated instruments, ligatures, and caps. Also, storing in hot and humid places may cause discoloration. To avoid discoloration of the silver plating, we recommend that you store the mouthpiece separately from the instrument for a certain period of time, such as in the outside pocket of the instrument case (wrapped in a soft cloth that will not risk damage).
