This book features numerous previously unpublished materials, primarily from the original magazine editions, making their first appearance in a collected volume.
A must-have for fans of the little-known Sharaku Hosuke!
This book compiles a selection of episodes from "The Three-Eyed One" (serialized in Weekly Shonen Magazine from 1974 to 1978), which will celebrate its 50th anniversary in July 2024. These episodes were re-edited for the collected volumes and are being published for the first time. Furthermore, the corresponding pages from the collected volumes are included alongside the collected editions, allowing readers to appreciate Tezuka Osamu's masterful editing skills while comparing the two.
In addition, it brings together various illustrations related to "The Three-Eyed One," including replaced panels from each chapter, approximately 60 newly discovered storyboards and character sketches, cuts from guest appearances in other works, character design materials for the protagonist "Sharaku Hosuke" drawn by Tezuka himself for the anime, handwritten synopses, and title pages from the original serialization.
This is, in a sense, a collection of previously unpublished material from "The Three-Eyed One," a luxurious volume made possible only for the 50th anniversary.
While this book contains some expressions and descriptions that may be considered inappropriate today, given that the author is deceased and there is no discriminatory intent behind them, this book reproduces them as they were in the original magazine version, without any revisions or alterations.
