Brand Introduction
Hamilton was established in 1892 in Lancaster, Pennsylvania, USA, and gained fame for providing accurate train times through its first pocket watch 'Broadway Limited'.
In 1914, it was selected as a supplier to the U.S. Army Air Forces, and contributed to the timing records of ski events and the United States Postal Service in 1919.
In the 1930s, it was used as the official watch by many airlines, and during World War II, nearly one million military watches were produced by 1947.
In 1970, it introduced the world's first digital watch 'Pulsure', and was acquired by the SSIH group (now known as Swatch Group) in 1977.
Today, Hamilton remains a beloved brand within the Swatch Group.
