The A80's amplification stage consists of two Texas Instrument TAS5754 Class-D amplifiers. This device is one of the few Class D amplifiers that combines high input sample rate support with high output PWM carrier frequency. The benefits of digital processing that supports inputs up to 192kHz and is performed without changing the signal sample rate are high signal-to-noise ratio and low distortion. The 768kHz output PMW carrier frequency, which is twice the 384kHz of conventional Class-D amplifiers, is also suitable for driving high-sensitivity ribbon tweeters. Each TAS5754 Class-D amplifier is connected in bridge mode for woofer and tweeter use only.
