Life Extension, Ascorbyl Palmitate, 500 mg, 100 Veggie Capsules

Product Description: Fat-Soluble Vitamin C SupplementNon-GMO LE CertifiedGetting enough vitamin C is important for overall health. Maintaining optimal vitamin C levels can promote longevity. This form of vitamin C can transport ascorbic acid across cell membranes and other biological barriers, scavenging free radicals. Benefits of Ascorbyl PalmitateProvides fat-soluble antioxidant protectionReach areas of tissue that Ascorbic Acid cannot reachMaintain optimal levels of Ascorbic Acid in circulation for longer compared to regular Ascorbyl AcidAscorbyl Palmitate (AP) is a combination of Ascorbic Acid and Palmitic Acid As an ester formed from acid, it can interact with lipid molecules to form fat-soluble vitamin C. Unlike naturally occurring vitamin C (ascorbic acid), which is soluble only in water, ascorbyl palmitate can pass through cell membranes and other biological barriers. These properties give it the unique ability to deliver free radical scavenger Ascorbic Acid to hard-to-reach places in the body. Ascorbyl Palmitate inhibits oxidative stress on lipids and protects red blood cells, endothelial cells, brain, and nervous tissue. It has been shown to help protect against free radicals. Scientific evidence suggests that ascorbyl palmitate may maintain higher circulating ascorbic acid levels compared to regular ascorbic acid. Compared to ascorbic acid, it has been shown to help maintain intracellular ascorbic acid levels, better inhibit oxidative stress and free radical damage to lipids and DNA, and inhibit glycanation of proteins in human cells. Ascor Big Acid makes up 40% of Ascorbyl Palmitate molecules by weight, but the activity of Ascorbyl Palmitate cannot be directly compared to Ascorbyl Acid due to their different activity in the body.
